Maura Bommer, long time fitness instructor and personal trainer, started her Pilates
journey becoming certified through both Body Harmonics and Stott/Merithew Pilates in
2000. She soon realised her passion was injury and rehabilitation and soon focused on
Therapeutic Pilates as well as Post Rehab Trainer Specialist, which led to enrollment of the
Connecticut School if Integrative Manual Therapy. She graduated as a Certified Integrative
Manual Therapist in 2013 and completed her final graduate course in 2022.
Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT), is a unique healing tool which is profound, yet gentle
and non-invasive. IMT can be used alone or as a complementary protocol to other healing
modalities. IMT works on all manners of disfunction and disability (from auto-immune
disease, sleep & digestive issues, spectrum disorders, mental health, neurological
imbalances, aging with dignity and more!)
She is active in the community, enjoys cycling and traveling, and is very excited to
continue using her skill sets here at Pilates Emporium!

Movement has been the heartbeat of my career since 2004. Over the last two decades, my journey as a Personal Trainer (2004) and Fascia Stretch Therapist (since 2015) has evolved into a deep, intuitive practice focused on helping aging adults maintain their strength, health, and independence.
My approach is deeply personalized. I understand that for the aging adult or those navigating injury, movement can often feel restrictive or daunting. By combining my long-term background in strength and conditioning with the gentle, rhythmic decompression of FST, I help my clients restore a more fluid, integrated movement pattern across the entire body, restoring a sense of natural full-body flow. Having practiced Reformer Pilates myself, I appreciate how vital joint mobility is to a successful restorative practice.
I view my upcoming Massage Therapy studies this September as a natural evolution of my skill set and commitment to deepening the clinical manual therapy techniques I provide to my clients every day.
I am here to listen to your body’s unique story and work alongside you to find lasting relief and progress.

I am a 200 hrYTT certified yoga teacher. I trained under Rachel Roger’s at Alchemy Yoga & Wellness. Since my certification in 2024 I have taught over 300 classes in just two years between 4 studios. My focus is always to include movements for lymphatic drainage, clearing our chakras from mental baggage, stretching our facia to keep our mobility. Most importantly calming our mind, body & soul so they can all unite as one to heal.
I have been practicing yoga since I was 15 years old. Yoga has helped me heal in my life, after going through many traumas and or difficult times. I focus on strengthening not only our minds and bodies, also healing our souls. Also I incorporate somatic movements to strengthen our pelvic floor , we hold our deeper stretches longer to allow fascia to release.
My teaching experience includes
Hatha, Restorative, Vinyasa, red light therapy, Barre, Yoga/Pilates breath work , meditation , Yin Yang including somatic movements in all my classes. I enjoy adding a mini yoga nidra at times as a gift to our nervous system, allowing it to reset . So grateful to be a part of your healing journey.
